173. Laglio

Laglio, along lake Como, and the drive to/from was hands down the most beautiful view I have seen in a long time and definitely my favourite spot in Italy so far. So many amazing houses, built in what seems like the most treacherous way, hanging out over roads and dangling on the lake edge. Beautiful ivy and flowers crawled up brick walls that looked hundreds of years old, and you get this sense that the house owners one day just sort of sighed and said “OK fine, you can put a road here, but I’m not moving my house so you are going to have to build me a bridge to my garden, or have the road narrow down just wide enough for one car, and send it underneath my house.”

172. George Clooney Spotting

Supposedly George Clooney has a house near Lake Como. We weren’t well prepared enough to actually google where it might be, but we definitely kept an eye out for him no matter where we went. Not gonna lie, I’m half convinced this apparent house in Como is was purchased for him by Nestle to promote nespresso, but hey, if I saw him I’d be all over him like a rash for a photo! After pondering whether every flash house we saw might be his, we finally saw him at Cafetteria Auroria near Laglio.
